Excessive overtime is a problem. Selling out the next generation of drivers is not the answer. UPS needs to hire more drivers to handle growing volume and weekend work. But package drivers should get package driver wages and be protected from excessive overtime.
Stop Harassment & Forced Excessive Overtime
Members were promised stronger protections against harassment and excessive overtime. We started out with strong proposals but they all got watered down. Management will still be able to violate 9.5 with impunity, and the proposed deal lets UPS force drivers to work 70 hours a week during peak.
